The team lead gave his first presentation to the Project Manager using a power point . He had worked on it for a week and thought he did a good job . His task was to conceptualize and  put in place a plan with milestones for the new work assigned to his team .

The project manager merely told the team lead at the end of the briefing ” there are two spelling mistakes in the presentation – get it corrected ” . No comments on the work !! . A familiar scene in corporate settings ? .

We humans have an urge to find fault with others and are eager to score points over others . It is generally very easy to find mistakes and tick off people especially when they report to you in a hierarchy . But do we also give credit where it is due ? especially when it comes to your notice spontaneously ? . Very rarely .

In all human endeavors where there are interfaces  , it is highly desirable that we appreciate good work on the spot and create emotional bonds with others . In fact we do not lose anything and instead gain confidence from others.

Let us all resolve to ” catch people doing things RIGHT “
