The preparations for the forthcoming Commonwealth games in Delhi in October 2010 is in serious trouble with many reports of corruption, time and cost over runs being reported every day. It is a collective failure of the government machinery, organizers, project managers and the quality watchdogs. Heads will have to roll before it is too late to correct the serious situation. Do we still have the time to salvageĀ  everything before the due date? Nobody seems to comment on this. Everyone is on a witch hunt to catch the culprits instead of analyzing the causes. It can never be one Suresh Kalmadi who could have done all the damage!

Why not request Mr Sridharan of Konkan Railways fame to step in and stop this rut? After all, he made the Delhi Metro rail come true and made Delhi a different city. He will at least do an honest appraisal and tell you what to do – go ahead or scrap the Games.
