The performance of the economy has shifted the strategic vulnerability inwards in a significant manner and both the GOP and Democrats generally agree on this shift . It is therefore high time that the Americans take care of their own future even at the cost of an erosion in their power status globally . There is a pressing need to create more jobs domestically and revitalize decaying domestic enterprises in the traditional brick and mortar sector using new technologies and innovation . The US system of education also need to focus on vocational competencies without losing the edge on entrepreneurship and R and D focus .
The American view of the world need to undergo a thorough overhaul – US citizens must understand the global scene and sensitize themselves to alter the perceptions of America in the minds of the Chinese and Asians . It will do Americans a lot of good , if they move out , take up jobs abroad and experience the world outside the US shore . It will also help if the Government simplify the Immigration laws and make it user friendly and still use technology to keep it secure .
The SHIELD has done its job and there is a lot of RED brought by the sacrifices of US soldiers who fought terrorism in alien lands . Let the focus now shift to HOPE and give both WHITE and BLUE more meaning and substance for the economic well being of the nation . ” Stars and Stripes Forever ” will be more enduring if it is realigned to rectify the Decade of Decline and take care of the energy , education and economic needs of the nation!
