I have just completed reading through the hard hitting and well researched book titled ” Third World America ” by Arianna Huffington of the well known and widely read Huffington Post – [ www.huffingtonpost.com] today when the media reports came in about President Obama ‘s proposal to introduce the so called Buffet Tax for US citizens earning over one million US dollars per year – based on the ” Giving Pledge ” campaign of Warren Buffet and Bill Gates . It is a bold move to tax the rich to fund government programs for education , job creation , environment and health care to address and restore the lost American Dream which Arianna Huffington narrates with great clarity and focus in her book .
Let us hope [ Hope 2.0 in the book ] that wisdom and sagacity prevail over party interest which so far catered only to the rich and powerful in the US society and prevent the US fast becoming a third world nation with First World capabilities and spirit . may be this is the last and final call before the decline becomes irreversible !
