Name a job which has no prescribed qualification or prior experience and no retiring age and above all no accountability for results. Of course, you got it! It is the Politician. Except for a minimum age to stand for an election, one is free to choose this attractive career with ample scope to be wealthy, powerful and at times famous (or infamous).
Your constituency is only a launch vehicle to be discarded at the first stage and you have a portfolio of options as far as a party is concerned once you get launched. You may get a ministerial berth by default once in a while if you are lucky but the preferred position is to be a power broker than actually being in power.
A country like India with more than 60 percent of population at the age of 30 and below, the rulers and the politicians who back them are all above the average age of 60 plus with attended health problems mainly related to faulty lifestyles.
But what matters here is the mobility and power of LUNGS in the Parliament and in public rather than the mobility of LIMBS demonstrated through good health!
